Activities
The Palos Verdes/South Bay Audubon Society provides a variety of local opportunities to get involved, get outside, or simply learn about local wildlife and nature. Join us on one of our critical wildlife surveys, regular “MOTMOTs” field trips, monthly bird walks, or monthly chapter meetings.
Join us at Madrona Marsh on one of our monthly bird walks for families, beginners, and birders of any experience level (4th Saturdays).
Our chapter regularly hosts birding-related excursions to an exciting variety of habitats/locations.
We hold monthly presentations on 3rd Tuesdays from 7-9pm. Click above for more info, or click here to join our Zoom room (during meeting hours).
Our Birdathon fundraiser functions as a 24-hour, collaborative bird watching race, where several board members and volunteers attempt to document as many bird species as possible.
Rooted in a 100-year-old, nationwide tradition, our annual Christmas Bird Count contributes valuable wild bird data to the Christmas Bird Census.
Similar to the Christmas Bird Count, volunteers count all butterflies seen in our designated PV/South Bay “circle”.
